Cuttlebug Be Inspired #20 - Valerie Salmon Sketch
Hello everyone and thank you for all your good wishes.
Today's challenge over the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog is to make a card using Valerie Salmon's sketch.
The sketch is wonderful, but somehow I can't seem to be able to make cards from sketches, especially the complex ones. I was ready to give up making this card when I told to myself: "make it your own way!" So I changed it quite a bit, but in the end it came out ok. Still not very satisfied with it though.
I made this flower for the Emboss Acetate challenge at Cuttlebug Challenge Blog but the I got ill and never made a card with it. I used the Cuttlebug Floral Fantasy embossing folder to emboss the acetate cut out the circle, paint with acrylic.
Meda, glad you are feeling a bit better. Your sketch is fine! It's nice to show that not every card from a sketch needs to be "over the top"! Our readers will be happy to see your lovely, clean lines, and beautiful colors. Great acetate flower project, too. Stay well. friend!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you've not been feeling too well Meda, hope you are much better now. Your card has turned out beautifully - you are too hard on yourself! Love the embossed acetate flower, and the paper and colours you've used are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteBet you're looking forward to next week's challenge - that's one I'm going to struggle with, lol!

ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely card, Meda! I love the embossed acetate flower that you created, and the paint just makes the image pop! I love how you layered different element on top of it, too! Wonderful take on the sketch! Thanks so much for sharing!

ReplyDeleteYour card is great Meda. I have my card done for the challenge already. Was the 2nd one to post this week (so not like me!) I know what you mean about the sketch though, I struggled a bit too. I'm not too happy with my card but it was fun trying anyway :)
ReplyDeleteHope your felling better now.
