Fall Mini Album and Ribbon Spool Box (Mini album de toamna si cutie din rola de panglica)

I have been playing with some challenges lately, but something just keeps telling me I need to create my style, so that is what I have spent the weekend doing.

In ultimul timp m-am jucat cu diverse provocari, dar ceva ma chema mereu sa creez in stilul meu, lucru pe care l-am si facut in acest sfarsit de saptamana.

Now this mini album and box set is truly me and my style:
Acest mini album si cutie sunt intr-adevar stilul meu:

-my fall colors this year including lots of black (culorile mele pentru toamna acesta inclusiv mult negru)
-recycling (reciclarea)
-elegant (eleganta)
-unique (unicitatea)
-useful (utilitatea)


I can't help seeing a creative opportunity in everything that surrounds me, so I just can't throw away empty ribbon spools, sturdy paper roll tubes, chipboard packaging and other junk.

Nu pot sa nu vad o posibilitate creativa in tot ce ma inconjoara. Pur si simplu nu pot arunca la gunoi role de panglica, tuburi de carton, ambalaje din carton si alte gunoaie.

Ribbon spool box (Cutie din rola de panglica)

This little box was just that: an empty ribbon spool that I have been keeping in my junk box.
The flower on top is made in one of those "how could I use this scraps?" session I often have.

Cutiuta acesta este realizata dintr-o rola de panglica pe care o pastram in cutia mea cu "gunoaie". Floarea cu care am decorat-o este realizata in una din sesiunile mele de "cum as putea folosi aceste resturi de hartie?".



And the black lace.... ooohh, this was one of my favorite things from my ribbon drawer and I am out. Unfortunately I have promised myself not to buy any supplies until I use up a good amount of what I already have.

Fall mini album (Mini album de toamna)

I made this album to use up some yellow parchment I had leftover from a larger wedding album.
This parchment was just too expensive to throw away the tiniest bit.

Am facut acest mini album pentru a folosi pergamentul ramas de la un album de nunta mai mare. A costat prea mult sa arunc pana si cea mai mica bucatica.

It can hold 34 photos of 6x7cm. The parchment separators will protect them from being damaged from rubbing against each other.
Albumul are loc pentru 34 de fotografii de 6x7 cm. Separatoarele din pergament protejeaza pozele.

Baby I Love You Album (II)

I promised to show you progress of my baby album/pregnancy journal.
I haven't added any photos yet, but I did make a few more pages.

Enjoy The Journey



It says "Enjoy the Journey" and I have been enjoying it so far. I have also learned new things about myself. Since it's the first time in my life I weigh more than 90 pounds I realized that having too many of them does make life a little harder. So I am so glad that my busy life does not allow me to gain weight. Hopefully I wont have too many extra at the end of these 9 months.



The tag is from Crafty Secrets and probably the birds too, but I have had them for a while and I can't remember. However, Crafty secrets is sponsoring this weeks Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge #101 "Nostalgia" and I had a great time working with the images they provided the DT with.

I accidentally pulled out the brown cardstock that the tag is mounted on and I really liked the look, so I ended up adding an eyelet and some fibers and made a whole page around it.

Best of Times
The left side is unfinished, but I do love the page on the right. The clock image is from is from a Teresa Collins kit and the text around it says "Best of times". This really is the best time for having a baby in our lives so I had to incorporate the clock.



The clock is mounted on a transparency with a brad and has room for journaling on the back.

"Baby, I Love You" Mini Album

Last week I received an email from Court at Court's Crafts asking what was "Meda's little miracle" that the girls were talking about on the Cuttlebug Challenge forum.

So I guess it's time to reveal the big mystery: Meda is 3 1/2 months pregnant, doing very well and hungry all the time.

And this is the first thing I created for my unborn baby:

It's a Basic Gray mini album that I am going to use like some kind of pregnancy journal. So you are going to see more of it as I decorate the pages.

I chose these colors for the cover because I don't know if it's a boy or girl yet so I decided to use some of my favorite colors that remind me of nature.

Materials:
Paper: chocolate color cardstock, paper scraps, Cosmo Cricket "Earth Love"
Cuttlebug: Victoria folder, Persia die
Stamps: My Pink Stamper
Other: Sizzix swirl die, handcut flower, pearl, Sakura glaze pen, Cropadile




It seems I am a double lucky girl today. Once because my cropadile arrived in the mail and second because the sun came out for just enough I needed to take a quick photo of the album and show you my project for today's Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge #99.

The 100 Butterfly Wedding (Nunta celor 100 de fluturi)

Well, I have last weekend. Not that it was my first time, but these ones really look impressive in such a number. They are now sitting on my desk ready to be shipped to their new home where they will probably adorn some wedding invitations or something else wedding related.

Eu da, weekend-ul trecut. Nu ca ar fi fost prima data, dar acestia chiar arata impresionant intr-un asemenea numar. Acum stau cu totii la mine pe birou asteptand sa fie expediati la noua lor locuinta unde probabil vor decora niste invitatii de nunta sau altceva legat de o nunta.



They are heat embossed on vellum using white embossing powder. The image is my favorite butterfly stamp and is by SU! from the Wonderful Wings set. And yes, they are all hand cut. It has been such a long time since my manicure scissors no longer do manicure but cut out images.

Fluturasii sunt realizati cu ajutorul unei stampile marca Stampin' UP! din setul Wonderful Wings folosind tehnica "heat embossing". Si da, sunt decupati cu forfecuta mea de manichiura care de mult nu a mai servit scopului pentru care a fost cumparata.

Emily's Carnet de Bal

Welcome to Cuttlebug Be Inspired #49!

This week's challenge is to design a mini album to match the birthday theme you have chosen 2 weks ago, In my case Princess Emily's 21st Birthday Party

I have been always fascinated by Royal court etiquette and especially balls where nobility used to wear fancy costumes and dance those lovely dances we can see in Pride and Prejudice movie.

So I decided to make a "Carnet de bal" (this is French and, strange as it may seem, also Romanian but I would appreciate if anyone could tell me the English word).







Card recipe: Mini album from Create & Treasure Publishing; Paper: Core'Dinations Black Magic, ivory shimmer paper (for the rose) and vellum from stash; Cuttlebug folders: Fleur de Lis; Stamps: Studio G, Stampin'UP! Le Carnet de Ball - A History Lesson

Many of you might not know what a Carnet de ball is so I took some time and documented it for you. Here is the link for those who understand French.

The Carnet de ball have been used since the 1820s in the public balls to remember the order of dances and who each lady will dance each dance with.

In the beginning they used to write on the back of their fans but soon the manufacturers started to transform the Carnet de bal into real works of art using precious materials like silver, ivory or pearl.

Later these programs were printed on cardstock (see image on the left).
