Winter Wedding Invitations (Invitatii de Iarna)

As a stationer I am living each season in advance as I am always  making invitations for the next season. So here we are at the beginning of autumn and my studio is starting to 'dress' in winter embellishments.

Hummingbird Invitations (Invitatii Colibri)

These hummingbird invitations are one of my dearest designs of 2015 which is why I am going to dedicate it 2 more future posts.

 {RO}  Aceste invitatii cu tema colibri sunt unul din modelele mele  preferatele mele din 2015, de aceea voi mai vorbi despre ele in 2 articole viitoare.

 I made these beautiful for Isabelle Marie's christening.  (can anyone enlighten me with the correct term? My USA custommers call it 'Baptism' while those in UK call it 'Christening'.

Part of the merit for the design belongs to Alice, Isabelle's mother who is very creative herself (I will tell you more about it in a future post). She managed to explain what she wanted while giving be enough creative liberty so that I could do my best work possible.

The reason I love this invitation so much is that it allowed me to showcase my passion for watercolor. I started with the watercolor illustration of a hummingbird and fuchsia. This is all it's left of it now, but I did manage to clean it in Photoshop.

 {RO} Am creat aceste frumoase invitatii pentru botezul lui Isabelle Marie. Un mare merit in realizarea lor il are mama ei. Pe langa faptul ca e la randul ei o persoana foarte creativa, Alice a stiut sa-mi indice ceea ce dorea, lasandu-mi totodata libertate creativa.

In plus, am avut ocazia sa-mi manifest pasune apentru acuarela ilustrand pasarea colibri. Doar asta a mai ramas acum din biata mea ilustratie. Din fericire am reusit sa o curat in Photoshop.

The custom hummingbird seal and the hand stamped envelope liner are details that make this invitation even more special.

White Butterfly and Beads Invitation (Invitatie cu Fluturi Albi si Margelute)

This is one of my first designs but I still love it so much that I decide to show it you again with a few improvements and additional stationery.

{RO}  Acesta este unul din primele mele modele de invitatii, dar imi place asa de mult incat am decis sa vi-l arat din nou, de data acesta cu cateva imbunatari si accesorii asortate pe care le-am facut anul trecut.

The initial design didn't have the wax seal, but I thought it would bring an extra element of interest, plus you can make it your own by customizing the wax seal. I would probably still go with the simple envelope for a christening invitation.
I also changed the initial plain envelopes with higher quality ribbed ones.

{RO}  Modelul initial nu avea sigiliul de ceara roz, insa mi se pare ca-i aduce un plus de farmec. Probabil pentru un botez as prefera plicul fara sigiliu.
De asemenea am inlocuit  plicurile cu unele de calitate superioara si o textura fina cu dungulite.

The table plan was my labor of love. It was also hard to pack and ship to England, but it was well worth the effort in the end.

{RO} Cel mai mult m-a solocitat acest plan al asezarii invitatilor la mese. A fost greu si de ambalat pentru a-l trimite in Anglia, dar in final a meritat efortul.

And I also have a special place in my heart for these programs which feature my own pen and ink drawing of the church where the wedding took place.

{RO} Aceste programe ale ceremoniei religioase sunt speciale pentru mine, deoarece am realizat chiar eu schita bisericii cu cerneala si penita.

Pink and Lilac Butterfly Invitation

Happy new year everyone.
I know I said I'm taking a break from posting, but I'm full of fresh new year energy and my little one has given me back my working nights. Oh, I can't explain enough what a joy this is! Does that make me workaholic?

Anyway, one of my goals for 2016 is to process a new design every week and post it in my Etsy Shop my website, and social media so I thought I could take an extra 10 minutes to update this blog as well.

I am getting a lot of request for this color combination, maybe with the addition of silver for wedding invitations.
What are your colors for spring 2016?

Autumn Leaves Wedding Invitations

Autumn. That time of the year when the light changes and the leaves start turning yellow and red and brown and purple. I could play with these forever.

Black White Silver Masquerade Invitations (Invitatii pentru bal mascat alb negru si argintiu)

I am officially  (but not totally) on vacation. If you know me, I am a complete workaholic especially since my job = my hobby.
So, while the heat is turned off at my studio across the street and my mother is taking the last parcel to the post office, I am enjoying a cup of coffee and cream and updating this  blog.

This is a new design from my masquerade series and probably my favorite to date. I designed it for a bachelorette (hen) party and is now available on my Etsy Boutique. Good thing about Etsy, you no longer have to e-mail me for price quotations :)

I have a variation of this design to show you in a future post so check the blog during the holidays. You know you won't be hearing from me too often when real work begins.

Elegant Damask and Vines Wedding Invitation with Medieval Style Seal Closure (Invitatie de nunta eleganta cu damasc si vite intortocheate cu inchidere tip sigiliu de inspiratie medievala)

One of my favorite invitations I designed this summer.  It's stylish and sophisticated, yet not the usual bulky, difficult-to-mail invitation you are accustomed with.

When you hold it you can feel it's made of high quality 300 gsm metallic card stock. Actually it has 3 layers of it in the middle panel.

Since it's made with a faux seal in the medieval letter style you can order it with or without outer envelope. How about having it addressed on the back, adding a stamp and mailing it as its is?

Formatul scisoare-plic inspirata din scrisorile medievale permite trimiterea prin posta asa cum este. Scrii adresa pe verso, timbrezi si trimiti :)

I'm on Etsy!

I have finally opened an Etsy shop: InvitatiiCouture.
I have been thinking about it for years but have been hesitant and waited for the RIGHT TIME to do it.

WHY NOW?

I needed a place where people could have a quick look at my style, price range, production time, shipping and other policies.
Finally, this fall I had to admit I wasn't going to make a real website at least until the kids go to school and I would have to make do with Etsy+Blog.

I needed a place where people could order quickly if they wanted a design I already had in my portfolio.

And honestly, I needed to make more money and get more value from the work I had already done. Some times I work for a full week on a single design and not only it never gets posted, but it happened to never hear from that client again or to be told 'Thank you, but I found someone else...*insert various reasons*'

I am hoping that my Etsy shop will allow me to showcase work that I am really proud of and never had the chance to show it simply because the bride has chosen something else or I didn't have time to post it on the blog.

I am hoping that with this new shop, you will be able to see my creations in a more compact and organized form than scrolling down through my blog posts.

3-Days Wedding: the Invitation, the Guest Book and the Party (Nunta de 3 zile si 3 nopti: invitatia, cartea de oaspeti si petrecerea)

Sorry, I had to choose from publishing just the pictures or no post at all. The story is too long to tell and I am tired, sore throat and really not feeling like writing a long post.

Quinceanera Masquerade Invitations (Invitatii bal mascat)

Just a few pictures of these black, bright pink and purple masquerade invitations.
You have seen them before here. This time I also tried the no-feather version, but I ended up making the same design again.

Acest model de invitatie pentru bal mascat l-ati mai vazut si aici. De data acesta am incercat varianta mai simpla, fara pana, dar modelul ales a fost acelasi.

Work-in progress-pictures from my ex-studio space where I have enjoyed a beautiful year with Raluca before she got married and my son Eduard was born.
I am currently renting a space closer to home (across the street). Maybe I'll show you some pictures one day when I finish unpacking and arranging everything.

Cateva poze din timpul lucrului, in urma cu aprape un an, pe cand mai lucram impreuna cu Raluca in vechiul atelier. Intre timp ea s-a casatorit, iar eu l-am adus pe lume pe Eduard si a trebuit sa-mi gasesc un nou spatiu mai aproape de casa.
