Happy (Belated) Birthday, Cuttlebug Challenge!

I have made this card about 10 days ago and never got the chance to photograph and post it. I even missed the Be Inspired Challenge #100 it was designed for (days in advance).

Anyway, here it is: my card for the 2n'd birthday of Cuttlebug Challenge. I have been with them for 1.5 years now and I will probably have to take a break in February when I will be 2 since my baby is coming then and he or she will require my entire attention.

12 Days of Christmas (12 zile de Craciun)

If you don't hear from me, I am busy making things, which is the case right now.

Daca se intampla sa nu auziti vesti de la mine, e pentru ca sunt foarte ocupata, cum e cazul si acum.


However, since Cuttlebug Challenge Blog is having a 12 Days of Christmas event, I wanted to let you know about it and also try to show you some of the things I have been making. I will have to catch up a bit because the festivities started on December 12, but I had very slow internet connection so had to stay out.

On the first day of Christmas, June from Cuttlebug Challenge Blog made a coaster calendar and I made a masculine birthday card. Can you read what's on the patterned paper? I actually designed that myself and included notes from the recipients favorite band: Delirious. He is a musician himself which explains the guitar I added later upon his friend's request.

Cel care a primit-o este muzician si fan al formatiei Delirious, motiv pentru care am creat acesta hartie speciala ce contine o bucata de partitura de-a lor. Chitara am adaugat-o ulterior la cererea prietenului lui care a comadat felicitarile.







On the second day of Christmas, Maggie from Cuttlebug Challenge Blog created a beautiful Christmas home decor plate and I created another music birthday card, more my style this time.

In a doua zi de Craciun, Maggie de la Cuttlebug Challenge Blog a creat o farfurie decorativa pentru Craciun, iar eu am mai facut o felicitare cu tema muzicala, de data acesta infuzand-o cu propria-mi personalitate.

Centerpiece for a Royal Birthday (Aranjament pentru o zi de nastere regala)

Today we challenge you to make a centerpiece that will wow your guests. Remember you still have time to complete last week's challenge: mini albums.
Azi va provocam sa realizati un aranjament care va decora centrul mesei la petrecerea voastra impresionandui pe oaspeti. Nu uitati ca mai aveti inca timp sa participati la concursul de saptamana trecuta: minialbume.

Continuing with my "Princess Emily's 21st Birthady" theme, I made this very simple yet elegant centerpiece (click on images for larger view).
Continuand cu tema lunii "Aniversarea a 21 de ani aprintesei Emily" am realizat un aranjament simplu dar elegant (click pe imagini pentru a le mari).

I was going to make a topiary with white roses, but then I don't know how I saw this paper roll tube (the craft color one) and i was instantly inspired to do this more modern design.
Intentionam sa fac un pom cu trandafiri, dar, vazand rola de servetele de bucatarie am fost inspirata sa fac aceste tuburi.




The highest tube, as I said is a recycled kitchen paper roll. The shorter ones were made from Core'dinations Black Magic cardstoc which is my absolute favorite lately.
Cel mai inalt dintre tuburi este rola de hartie reciclata. Celelalte doua sunt facute din carton Core'dinations Black Magic -- preferatul meu in ultimul timp.


How to (Instructiuni realizare)

1. I first passed my cardstock through the cuttlebug (I used the same Fleur de Lis folder throughout all my designs this month).
Stantezi hartia cu ajutorul cuttlebug si sablonul Fleur de Lis.

2. Then I rolled the embossed cardstock on my paper roll so it gor a nice circular shape.
Rulezi hartia stantata pe tubul de carton ramas de la o rola se servetele pentru bucatarie.

3. Adhere the cardstock to form a tube. You have to use a very good adhesive (I used UHU Twist and glue -- the yellow and black bottle).
Lipesti capetele pentru a forma un tub. Atentie, trebuie folosit un adeziv foarte bun. (Eu am lucrat cu UHU Twist and Glue -- sticla galben cu negru)

4. I put a purple satin flower with a salmon pearl center on top of each tube.
Asezi cate o floare din saten deasupra fiecarui tub.

5. I added a rose shape scented candle to complete the centerpiece.
Adaugi o lumanare parfumata in forma de trandafir pentru a completa aranjamentul.



I really love how these flowers came out so I am going to make lots of them :)
Imi place cum au iesit aceste flori din saten, asa ca voi face mult mai multe. :)

Woodsy Creatures - Be Inspired #39 (Vietuitoarele padurii)

I am thrilled to showcase another Provo Craft embossing folder being released for CHA - the Owl Flourish Folder!

I gotta tell you the new folders are wonderful! The improvements they have made, the embossing is deeper and the lip on the top is narrower.

The card is for a dear friend in Canada. It was her birthday yesterday so I made the card with her in mind. She also likes these colors more than I do, so Val, I hope you like it.



The box is for me. Finally something for me! I never have time to make pretty things for myself. This is the box where I keep my hair accessories. I got it long ago from my mother-in-law and it needed a make-up. At first I wanted to paint it all on the outside, but then I liked it with just the owl design on top so I decided to leave it like that.

I really love how it came out and I think this could be easily reproduced to make gift boxes for friends.

Be Inspired #38 - Countdown to CHA, Star folder

Hello everyone. I had to wait until today to post my project for Be Inspired #38 be cause my project was eatable and had to be fresh on Saturday. Here it is:

Salutare tuturor. A trebuit sa astept pana azi pentru a publica proiectul meu pentru Be Inspired #38 pentru ca e ceva de mancat care trebuia sa fie proaspat sambata.



The minute I embossed my new Star Folder which Provo Craft has generously offered the Cuttlebug Challenge design team I felt the impulse of cutting them out.

De indata ce am incercat noul sablon pentru Cuttlebug am stiut ca trebuie sa decupex stelutele.


I made a list of all the possible things I could do with them and finally decided upon cocktail sticks for my birthday cake. All you need to make them are some scraps of paper, the new Star Folder which will be released this year at CHA, some toothpicks and some glue.

Mi-am facut o lista de idei si in final am ramas la: bete de cocktail pentru prajiturile de ziua mea. MAteriale folosite: noul sablon Cuttlebug "Star", resturi de hartie, scobitori, adeziv. Sablonul va fi lansat anul acesta la targul Craft and Hooby Association, fiind oferit cu generozitate de catre Provo Craft designerilor de la Cuttlebug Challenge Blog.


Be Inspired #38

Since this week's challenge required the use of buttons along with the star folder and colors red, blue, white, I made another project to incorporate buttons. It's a card for my brother-in-law, whose b-day is July 14. This is the first time I made I masculine card that is truly masculine so I am very proud of it.

Deoarece tema de saptamana aceasta implica folosirea nasturilor pe langa sablonul "Star" si culorile alb, albastru, rosu, am mai facut si o felicitare pentru cumnatul meu a c arui zi de nastere este 14 iulie. E prima data cand reusesc sa fac o felicitare cu adevarat masculina, deci sunt foarte mandra de ea.

Yep, it's my birthday! I usually don't give much attention to it but this time it really got into the middle of attention.

The girls from the Cuttlebug Challenge design team have dedicated a whole post to me and it also happens to be the debut of our countdown for CHA, revealing the new Provo Craft folders.

So let me tell you how I was drawn attention to my b-day.

I was working on the Be Inspired #37 post from the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog when I saw my name on a card. Of course, my mouth was already to my ears smiling, so I began to look closer at the other cards and realized half of them were for me and there is also a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY right at the beginning on the Be Inspired post.

Cuttlebug Meets Cupkcake - Be inspired #24 (Cuttlebug si prajiturelele)

If you had asked me a week before today I would have told you I didn't like digital stamps. But these cupcakes were so fun to use that ideas just kept coming. So I made another simple card from the cardstock that was left from the first one.

Acum o saptamana as fi zis ca nu imi plac stampilele digitale, dar acestea au fost asa de dragute incat nu mai puteam sa-mi tin in frau ideile. Mai jos e o alta felicitare facuta din restul de carton ramas de la prima.


I am also happy that I used the Spots and Dots cuttlebug folder instead of my favorite which is Textile. My personal challenge is to use all the cuttlebug products I have, not just my faves.

Ma bucur ca am reusit sa folosesc matrita Spots and Dots in loc sa tot apelez la preferata mea, Textile. Provocarea mea personala este sa creez cu toate produsele cuttlebug pe care le am, nu doar cu preferatele.

Love Card for Gabriel (Felicitare de dragoste pentru Gabriel)

These are the words that described the card that my friend wanted to give her husband for his birthday. I don't suppose I have to tell you how difficult it was to come up with a man card.

The first thing I did was research (looking around other blogs that is). I found my inspiration here and I chose to do the same layout with the materials I had.

I took a geography book and tore a map from it, then I tore a page from a music book (Gabriel is a musician). These were my patterned papers. The rest of materials were all chosen to fit my color scheme and theme. This is the card that I came up with after a day of experimenting and changing.

I love this vintage style very much, but I am not sure it fits my cardmaking style. When I look at Ingvild's original card I can see how far I am from it. Besides, I don't have the kind of materials she has. Anyway, all in all it was a very nice experience to play vintage.



Aceste cuvinte descriu felicitarea pe care prietena mea o dorea pentru ziua sotului ei. Cunoscatorii stiu ca nu e floare la ureche sa gasesti un design potrivit pentru o felicitare masculina. Asa ca m-am pus pe treaba si am cautat inspiratie pe alte bloguri. Cand am gasit felicitarea acesta am tinut neaparat sa o reproduc cu materialele pe care le aveam.

Am luat o carte de geografie de unde am rupt o harta si apoi am rupt o pagina dintr-o carte de muzica (Gabriel e muzician). Pornind de la aceste doua elemente am adunat si alte materiale care se potriveau si in cele din urma, dupa o zi de incarcari si modificari am ajuns la ceea ce vedeti aici.

Imi place foarte mult stilul vintage, dar nu sunt convinsa ca se potriveste stilului meu de creatie. Pe langa felicitarea lui Ingvild a mea paleste de departe si in plus nici nu am la dispozitie materialele pe care le are ea. Oricum a fost o experienta interesanta din care am invatat multe.
