Christmas is such a special time! For me it's a time for meditation, a time to think of the things I am thankful for.
I am thankful for my passion for crafting and I am thankful for my online friends.

On the eleventh day of Christmas...

Invitations to Christmas Dinner at Swan Palace (Invitatie la Cina de Craciun la Palatul Lebedelor)

This year my Christmas color palette is white, silver and light blue so when I had to choose my tutorial for the 12 Days of Christmas Celebration over the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog, I immediately grabbed the 7 swans.

Anul acesta, culorile mele pentru Craciun sunt alb argintiu si albastru deschis. De aceea, cand a tebuit sa-mi aleg tema pentru numaratoarea inversa de Craciun organizata de Cuttlebug Challenge Blog am ales cele 7 lebede.


I am also doing a lot of wedding invitations with feathers in this period, so swans were the perfect choice.

In plus, in perioada aceasta lucrez la foarte multe invitatii de nunta cu pene, deci nu se putea ceva mai potrivit decat tema lebedelor.

So, on the seventh day of Christmas I made invitations to an imaginary Dinner at the Swan Palace. Remember the swan princes story? Well, she has both arms in my story :)

Asadar, in a saptea zi de Craciun, am facut invitatii la o cina de Craciun imaginara la Palatul Lebedelor (imaginar si el). Mai tineti minte povestea lebedelor? In povestea mea printesa ramane cu ambele brate :)



The centerpiece is very quick to make. Just mix some white feathers with silver snowflakes and add a candle in the middle. If you haven't been here for the Festival of Lights blog hop, here is a tutorial for the vellum lantern I used as central piece.

Aranjamentul central este foarte usor de facut. Amestecati doar niste pene albe cu fulgi de nea argintii si adaugati o lumanare alba sau argintie in mijloc. Daca nu ati fost pe-aici cu ocazia festivalului luminilor, puteti citi acum instructiunile de realizare a lanternei din calc pe care am asezat-o in centrul aranjamentului.



My central motif this Christmas is the white butterfly. I put it everywhere: on invitations, cards, Christmas decorations, walls, trinket boxes. They are so soft, delicate and elegant! So why not have a Christmas dinner invitation with a white butterfly? Why not add some white butterflies in your feathers and snowflake centerpiece.

Craciunul acesta, motivul meu decorativ central este fluturasul alb. Il gasiti peste tot: pe invitatii, felicitati, cutiute de bijuterii, pe pereti, ca decoratiune pentru brad, de ce nu amestecat cu penele din aranjamentul pe care tocmai vi l-am prezentat.

Dentist Christmas Cards (Felicitari de Craciun pentru dentisti)

Do you know anyone crazy enough to hand cut 100 Christmas teeth? Hehe, you're right! That's me!!
Cunoasteti pe cineva suficient de nebun incat sa decupeze manual 100 de maselute? Hehhe, intr-adevar, eu sunt aceea!


So, on the sixth day of Christmas which turned out to be 3 full days, I made these cards for all the dentists working with a certain dental lab (50 cards). Tony is a nice guy and the dental work his lab makes exquisite, so I strongly recommend them.

Asadar, in a sasea zi de Craciun, care s-au dovedit a fi 3 zile pline, am facut aceste felicitari pentru totii medicii cu care lucreaza un anumit laborator dentar (50 felicitari). Tony e un tip dragut si lucrarile facute de laboratorul sau sunt excelente.



Cutting them was quite an easy task compared to cutting all those pieces of double sided foam adhesive and mounting the 3D images on the card fronts.

Taiatul imaginilor a fost floare la ureche pe langa taiatul spumei dublu dezive si montatul maselutelor pe felicitare.

12 Days of Christmas (12 zile de Craciun)

If you don't hear from me, I am busy making things, which is the case right now.

Daca se intampla sa nu auziti vesti de la mine, e pentru ca sunt foarte ocupata, cum e cazul si acum.


However, since Cuttlebug Challenge Blog is having a 12 Days of Christmas event, I wanted to let you know about it and also try to show you some of the things I have been making. I will have to catch up a bit because the festivities started on December 12, but I had very slow internet connection so had to stay out.

On the first day of Christmas, June from Cuttlebug Challenge Blog made a coaster calendar and I made a masculine birthday card. Can you read what's on the patterned paper? I actually designed that myself and included notes from the recipients favorite band: Delirious. He is a musician himself which explains the guitar I added later upon his friend's request.

In prima zi de Craciun, June de la Cuttlebug Challenge Blog a facut un calendar din suporturi de pahare, iar eu am facut o felicitare masculina cu tema muzicala. Cel care a primit-o este muzician si fan al formatiei Delirious, motiv pentru care am creat acesta hartie speciala ce contine o bucata de partitura de-a lor. Chitara am adaugat-o ulterior la cererea prietenului lui care a comadat felicitarile.







On the second day of Christmas, Maggie from Cuttlebug Challenge Blog created a beautiful Christmas home decor plate and I created another music birthday card, more my style this time.

In a doua zi de Craciun, Maggie de la Cuttlebug Challenge Blog a creat o farfurie decorativa pentru Craciun, iar eu am mai facut o felicitare cu tema muzicala, de data acesta infuzand-o cu propria-mi personalitate.

This is my favorite card from the shop. It has so many layers of paint and napkins and stamps that even I can't remember how I made it.

Aceasta este felicitarea mea preferata din magazin. Are asa de multe straturi de vopsea si servetele si stampile incat nici eu nu mai stiu cum am facut-o.






The envelope is handmade from Fabriano Paper and stamped with an elegant Studio G stamp. No it's not a background stamp. I just stamped it repeatedly to make it look like a damask pattern.

Plicul e facut manual din hartie Fabriano, iar modelul din interior l-am stampilat cu cerneala aurie. Nu, nu am o stampila asa de mare ci am stampilat modelul unul cate unul pana am obtinut efectul acesta de damasc.

Quick Christmas Card (Felicitare de Craciun care se face repede)

Now that Thanksgiving cards are no longer in the way we can focus totally on those Christmas cards that we need so many of and never have time to make enough.



If you are like me and have loads of work to do, you are in need of quick Christmas cards ideas, right?

Here's one quick, cheap, yet so beautiful card you can mass produce.


Materials needed:

- 1 standard card blank
- 1 standard envelope
- cardstock a little smaller than your card front
- cuttlebug folder *Lace tree*
- 1 rhinestone
- adhesive


Tools:

- paper cutter (trimmer or ruler+craft knife)
- paper folder (I use Scor-it)
- cuttlebug (or other embossing machine)
- adhesive
- sharp edge for distressing (I used my craft knife but you might have a special tool for that)



How to make it (watch your clock it will take less than 5 minutes):

1. Take your smaller cardstock and run it through your cuttlebug.
2. Use sharp blade or even your house key to distress edges.
3. Adhere to card front (I use double sided tape. I heard zip dry glue is also great for this job.)
4. Adhere rhinestone in the middle of your embossed tree (Use small amount of strong clear dryglue).
5. YOU'RE DONE!!!

Christmas is Near, so Let's Make Cards (Craciunul e aproape, deci hai sa facem felicitari)

Surely my grandmother is already thinking about Christmas meals while I can only think of my art. I'd like to be able to make more cards this year to send to friends and family. This is the second one and I made it thanks to 2S4Y no 14 challenge. I really like fancy things so I had to make a box instead of an envelope. Also the little pine cones I adhered with hot glue are too fragile to ship in a normal envelope. I bought the silver tree from a local home decor shop in a box with more Christmas embellishments like this, so I guess you'll see more of them soon. I really like this card and I'm thinking of making some more, but I'm not sure I have the patience to make that many boxes.



Sunt sigura ca bunica mea se gandeste deja la masa de Craciun, in vreme ce mie imi sta gandul doart la arta. Mi-as dori sa fac mai multe felicitari de Craciun anul acesta pentru a le trimite prietenlor si familiei. Aceasta este cea de-a doua si am facut-o datorita concursului 2S4Y nr. 14. Imi plac lucrururile sofisticate, deci am facut o cutie in loc de plic si mai e si fragilitatea micilor conuri de brad care face imposibila expedierea acestei felicitari intr-un plic obisnuit. Ma gandesc sa reproduc acest model in mai multe exemplare, dar nu sunt sigura ca as avea rabdare sa fac atatea cutii.

Christmas Card with Red Berries (Felicitare de Craciun cu bobite rosii)

This is the first Christmas card I made this year and it is for Kristina's Color Challenge #32. I really loved the colors and the ornaments presented as inspiration and tired as I was I made this card last night. One thing I love about this is that I only used paper from my scrap stash, except the card base. I also uses a piece of napkin instead of patterned paper. The berries are adhered with hot glue.
Next I want to make a box to put the card inside instead of an envelope and I will also try some variations with silver stars and little pine cones. I hope I can find time for that during the weekend.



Aceasta este prima felicitare de Craciun pe care am facut-o anul acesta. Mi-au placut foarte mult culorile pe care Kristina le-a propus saptamana acesta ca inspiratie si oricat am fost de obosita ieri seara nu m-am putut abtine sa nu particip si eu. Un lucru de care sunt foarte mandra e ca am folosit doar hartie din cutia cu resturi, exceptand cartonul de baza. De asemenea am folosit o parte dintr-un servetel cu motive de Craciun. "Crengile" cu bobite sunt lipite cu plastic fierbinte ca sa nu cada.
Sper sa am timp in weekend sa completez modelul cu o cutie pentru prezentare in loc de plic si eventual niste variatii cu stelute argintii si conuri de brad.

Personal Touch (Accent personal)

I wasn't in a very creative mood during the last month so I thought I should at least case a card. Since I had an angel stamp from Inkadinkado I decided to case the card that Flora had just sent me (see this post for the original card and here are the instructions). Although the initial plan was to make the exact same card, the result had to be filled with my own personality: I need to have strong contrast and rich colours. Thanks for looking, and thanks again for the lovely card, Flora.

Nu prea ma pot lauda cu creativitatea de luna trecuta. M-am chinuit in zadar sa fac cateva felicitari de Craciun, asa ca am hotarat sa copiez cel putin felicitarea pe care mi-o trimisese prietena mea Flora (vezi aici originalul si aici instructiunile pentru realizarea ei). Rezultatul nu a fost cel pe care il planuisem deoarece a trebuit sa intervina personalitatea mea care ordona: contraste puternice si culori intense. Flora, multumesc inca o data pentru frumoasa felicitare pe care mi-ai trimis-o.

Christmas Card (Felicitare de Craciun)

I finally had some time to make a card. There isn't much to comment. Just playing with the stamps my friend Angie has sent and two of my favourite colours: burgundy and gold. I was thinking to adapt this design to a wedding invitation.

In sfarsit am avut timp sa fac o felicitare. Nu e mare lucru de zis. M-am jucat doar cu stampilele primite de la prietena mea Angie si cu doua dintre culorile mele preferate: visiniu si auriu. Ma gandesc sa adaptez modelul la o invitatie de nunta.
