More Valentines (Alte felicitari de Valentines Day)

I have left the best to the last. This is my favorite one:

And the first time in my life I used fuchsia on a card. I like it, but will never be among my favorites. I don't like bright bolds.

Si iata prima felicitare din viata mea in care am folosit culoarea fucshia. Imi place, dar nu va ajunge niciodata in topul preferatelor mele. Nu prea imi plac culorile tipatoare.

Masculine Valentines (Felicitari de Sf. Valentin pentru barbati)

I've always had trouble creating masculine cards. Not this time.
Intotdeauna am avut dificultati in a crea felicitari pentru barbati. Nu si de data asta.

[Cuttlebug folder *floral fantasy*, vintage button from my grandma's sewing drawer ;) heart and medieval circle from my scrap stash, core' dinations paper, scor-it board, circle nestabilities.]

I also entered this for the no pink or red valentine challenge on cards blog this week but it didn't get picked. However you should check the other cards. They are fantastic and lots of inspiration for masculine valentines if you need some. I still like my card a lot:)

I really love this one!
The background paper is one I stained with glimmer mist while I was working on my Be Inspired #69 project. The little patterned strip is from a Teresa Collins kit (too precious to waist the tiniest scrap). The little heart is also cut out from my favorite valentine embossing folder from cuttlebug (floral fantasy).

Imi place felicitarea aceasta.

More Vintage Valentines (Inca niste felicitari de Sf. Valentin)

Last week after I made my first vintage valentine for the Cuttlebug Challenge I just couldn't stop so I made some more. Here they are:

 blue vintage valentine

blue vintage valentine 2

I used scraps from my stash and my favorite valentine folder from cuttlebug: *floral fantasy*

Glimmer Mist Valentine - Be Inspired #69

I am one day late with my Cuttlebug Be inspired #69 design.
One day late and for a good reason: I got captured by my card making and managed to make about 5 other cards which for me is a record. Then I was too tired to post this last night.

We were challenged to use a masking technique and glimmer mist. For more details about that and how you can win your own glimmer mist, please check the challenge on the cuttlebug blog.
Sorry the picture doesn't show the subtle glimmer on the heart and these pictures were taken last night by artificial lighting.

The swirl is made with the cuttlebug *floral fantasy* folder which is great for valentines cards, then cut out.

The butterfly.... I couldn't live without butterfly cards :P
Fluturasul.... cum as putea trai eu fara felicitari cu fluturasi ? :P

As I was finishing this little tree painting I suddenly got sentimental and thought I needed 2 shilouettes under the blooming tree. I will keep this card to remind me of how happy I am in the arms of my husband.

In timp ce terminam acesta mica pictura in acuarela am devenit brusc sentimentala si am simtit nevoia sa schitez doua siluete sub pomul inflorit.

Tree Shape Card (Felicitare in forma de copac)

This is my sample for Cuttlebug Be Inspired #18: SHAPE CARDS

I had so many card ideas! I think we should really do this again sometime.

The rest of the DT have some great samples too, so please visit Cuttlebug Challenge Blog to see them all.

How to make this card:

1) Draw a tree.

2) Use trace paper to copy it on the cardstock that will be the base of your card. Make sure not to cut out all the upper part so your card can open and close.

3) Trace the tree trunk on brown paper and the leaves on green paper and cut out. Repeat this step, only turn your paper if not double sided so you have the mirrored images.

4) Use a swirls embossing folder to make the leaves. I used the Fiskars Filigree texture plate.

5) Glue the colored paper to the front and back of the card.
6) Stamp some birds, color, cut out, punch a small heart and mount them with pop dots on your card front.

Voila!

This is how the open card looks. I initially intended to add more embellishments to it but then I decided to keep it simple this time.

Valentine-A Different Kind of Love (Valentine's Day o altfel de iubire)

This week's theme for CUTTLEBUG BE INSPIRED #17 was LOVE.
Tema acestei saptamani pentru CUTTLEBUG BE INSPIRED #17 este IUBIREA.

My first thought was: heart, love birds....
Then I said: NO, that is too common, I need something more personal. So I tried to define what love means in my life. I wrote my definition on a piece of paper and went to bed.
That was when this card idea came to me: I suddenly realized I knew about LOVE that was GREATER THAN ALL.

If you don't know what I mean, please read its definition on the front of my card.

" (Ioan 3:16)

The word art is done by myself (actually it is my first word art) on the computer and printed. I enjoyed making it tremendously since there were holy words I was typing, I guess. Therefore I thought I should give you the opportunity to enjoy these words yourself.

I printed mine 10 cm (4 inch) wide, then cut it out with my manicure scissors.

The initial label template is from Mel Stampz but I edited it to have double border.

The rose buds are a gift from my friend Angie. Thank you, Angie! They arrived at the perfect time. I will send you a bigger thank you soon :)

For the embossing I used Cuttlebug Script Texture Folder.
Am stantat hartia folosind Cuttlebug Script Texture Folder.

The craft paper is recycled from a gift wrapping paper tube. I will have another project to show you this week using the same paper and texture, so be sure to ad me to your blogroll/follow.

These are the words that described the card that my friend wanted to give her husband for his birthday. I don't suppose I have to tell you how difficult it was to come up with a man card.

The first thing I did was research (looking around other blogs that is). I found my inspiration here and I chose to do the same layout with the materials I had.

I took a geography book and tore a map from it, then I tore a page from a music book (Gabriel is a musician). These were my patterned papers. The rest of materials were all chosen to fit my color scheme and theme. This is the card that I came up with after a day of experimenting and changing.

I love this vintage style very much, but I am not sure it fits my cardmaking style. When I look at Ingvild's original card I can see how far I am from it. Besides, I don't have the kind of materials she has. Anyway, all in all it was a very nice experience to play vintage.

A Lady's Dream (Visul unei doamne)

Do we, ladies, need anything else than love and pearls? Actually some of us do: CRAFT MATERIALS :).
I made this card using the same materials as the previous one, only changing the stamps. The card front is exactly the same, but I put it horizontally. I'm very proud of this card because the only non scrap materials used are the card base and the pearls. Guess what's behind the hearts? Of course, that's where the ribbon pieces are joint together. Heart stamp is from Penny Black. Thanks for visiting.

Non Traditional Valentine

How come I am posting another black & white card? I don't know. I could have chosen the purple one I have created for this valentine season. Anyway, I don't like Valentine's day because of all the commercial fuss that goes with it. I like the love theme instead so I decided to make some cards. This is one of them. Non traditional and somehow strange for a card. Maybe I could add a sentiment to this design. Thanks to my Texas friend, Bev, I now have sentiment stamps and not just any brand but Stampin' UP!
Card details: heart using patterned paper I have made myself using small stamps from Germany and scalloped scissors for the black outline; mesh received from my other Texas friend, Kim; pearls I bought long ago to make my wedding necklace, black stickers of unknown brand (see this card and this card using the same stickers); book binding covers for card base.

Since I feel like not doing what I should tonight I'm not writing the Romanian version of this post. :)
