Simply Fuchsia

I simply love this fuchsia set (the thank you cards are missing from the picture, but they are the same style as the invitation only rectangular).
Definitely not my style.as I have the tendency of overdoing my invitations. However Ana Maria has taught me how less can be more.

Green Lips and Ivory Moustaches (Buze verzi si mustati ivory)

The lips and mustaches wedding favors presented in the previous post were a great success and we had several requests for them since, but check out these crazy colors.

Notice my new watermark?
Well, the hobby has slowly become a business and that is all that there is until my little one will grow more independent and leave me time and space to create again just for fun.At the moment my only art recreation is watercolor sketching late at night when everyone is asleep. All my other art supplies are at the studio.

[Edited later]
Photos from the wedding these were made for.

Lips and Moustaches Wedding Favors (Marturii mustete si buze)

We had an excellent time finishing these favors for Laura yesterday.
We made a few for ourselves and had a fun photo session.

My fingers hurt from so much cutting but, as you can tell from the pictures, they were worth the effort. I can only imagine the great photos  Laura's guests will get.

Pillow Box Wedding Favor in Black, White and a Touch of Turquoise

I like to remind my brides that we don't all have the same tastes and nobody else can choose for them.
This favor box proves it again. I love it! It reminds me of a royal kind of elegance and simplicity. Yet the bride they were designed for chose the other version (the one that I am not showing at least until after her wedding). :)

"Mac...nolia" DIY Favor Box

I had this favor box in mind for over a week, since I saw the new inspiration for OTWC Challenge #34. Love these soft colors of peach and blue. How about that cherry branch? Wouldn't it make a great painting?

Little did I know than that my dear husband would bring so much contribution to my project. First he changed a burnt light bulb and was so sweet to ask me if I wanted the box. Oh, yes, I did want it, I had already put my eye on it and I was so delighted he had thought of me that way.

This is a great way to make your own wedding favors and recycle some of your day to day life packaging. So start collecting some boxes and put them to good use. Ask your friends and neighbors to bring theirs too. I think different size and shapes boxes would look beautiful on a candy buffet.

Carefully open the box flat.

Apply an even coat of white glue on the outside of the box taking care not to have too much.

Adhere the box to the back of a pattern paper of your choice.

Cut out around the box, fold and glue the box in place.

Embellish as you like. I used a parchment flower that I made myself, but you can buy paper flowers to save some time.

Now this flower is called Mac...nolia. No, it's not a mistake, although someone commented about my poor English. This is how my husband called it when I asked him what flower it resembled. I should tell you he is not great with flower names so he first called it a "mac" which is the Romanian for "poppy". I told him I wanted to make a poppy but this one looks more like a magnolia so he corrected himself: "Mac..nolia!". I had a great laugh and told him this is going to be the flowers name.

This is it for today but I have another beautiful wedding project to share tomorrow.

Vintage Pink Wedding Favor (Marturie nunta Roz Vintage)

Monica was one of my favorite brides to work with this year.
She wanted a vintage pink style for her wedding.

Her guests received salt cellars with the bride and groom initials as favors. This one is the one she sent me to design the boxes that would match her wedding theme. She ended up choosing a design that would look more like her reception decor but this is stull my favorite version.

I also desined severeal invitations for Monica's wedding.
I have only published one of them so far, so I suggest you stick around for some more vintage pink goodies.

Wedding Favor Box - CBI30 - (Marturie nunta)

Hello, and welcome to Cuttlebug Be Inspired #30 : WEDDING

Our sponsor this week is:

Check out their website. They have lots of diecuts. The cuttlebug team has made awesome projects using some of their diecut boxes. Check them out.

My sample for the wedding Be Inspired is a little favor box made from a paper towel roll that I have recicled.

Well, wedding favor was it's initial destination but it takes too long to make one so I decided to keep my ribbon roses in it. I will make one for each rose color.

Would you like to participate in the challenge?

Daca doriti sa participati...

Make a wedding project using some cuttlebug die/folder in your cuttlebug or even using another diecut machine or other dies in your cuttlebug. You can participate as long as you use some ProvoCraft product. Leave the link to your project on this post over the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog.

WHITE VALENTINE

Today's project is a non traditional Valentine. I personally do not celebrate Valentine's Day although it has been imported to Romania. I prefer celebrating love every day of my life and I don't need a special day for that.

My reason for choosing white is that my husband always brings me WHITE roses to tell me how much he loves me. I don't remember him ever bringing me a red rose in 10 years since we have been together.

Products and tools I used (Materiale si unelte folosite):
- cuttlebug machine
- cuttlebug Textile Folder
- rose brass stencil (sablon alama)
- vellum (hartie de calc)
- favor box template (sablon cutie marturii)

- Encore gold ink (cerneala aurie marca Encore)

Soft and Elegant Gold and Cream Wedding Set (Set invitatii de nunta subtil si elegant crem si auriu)

One of my colleagues from university is getting married this summer and she asked me to design her wedding invitations. She has always been so elegant so it was quite easy to picture her style when she told me she wanted vellum, cream and gold.

Here is what I designed for her:
#1. Single panel wedding invitation + vellum envelope
#2. Table numbers
#3. Wedding favors.

#2. Numere pentru mese
#3. Cutiute pentru bomboane (asa-numitele "marturii").

I made this wedding set on behalf of the CUTTLEBUG CHALLENGE BLOG for the Cuttlebug Be Inspired #14 which was to use our favorite folder.
My favorite folder is and I think will always be Cuttlebug Textile Folder. I wonder if Provo Craft can beat this up with a more elegant one.

For the invitation I embossed just the top and bottom of my card stock (after I printed it). The border gives it just the elegant touch required without overwhelming the design. Pentru invitatii am stantat doar cate o margine sus si una jos ceea ce confera eleganta fara sa incarce prea mult design-ul.

I did the same with the table numbers only the numbers are hand painted with golden acrylic glaze. I applied the same golden glaze to the raised surface of the embossing.

I could not decide which favor box to keep from my many ideas so I chose to show you 2 of them. One is embossed with the Textile Folder and the other has the flower motif from Stampin' Up! Happy Harmony stamp set. Thank you, Bev for these beautiful stamps!

I cannot go on anymore as I am getting to the bottom of the page with this post. For any questions you have my e-mail address in the profile on the right or you can leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

Looking in the Mirror... (Privind in oglinda...)

When I look in the mirror I see things like this and I see someone who just loves to create art that is elegant as much as useful. I never keep what I make. except maybe for a very short while. It's the process of creating that defines who I am. The bigger the challenge, the happier the artist. So challenge me! I don't mind.

Hand painted Wooden Favor Boxes with Heart Shaped Window (Marturii - cutii pictate manual cu fereastra in forma de inima)

The boxes are from a wedding set I designed a few weeks ago. The whole set was designed around the tulip image and the green color and it also contains the wedding invitations and some matching labels for the wedding favors. I’ll show you the invitations in another post.
I painted the boxes with acrylic paint and some crackle medium. At a closer look you can see the vintage crackle effect. For the inside I used the same paper I designed for the invitations. The picture showing through the heart-shaped window is a picture of the bride and groom that I edited in Adobe Photoshop to match the whole theme.
The boxes were filled with chocolates, wrapped with matching paper, tied with organza ribbon and given to the god parents. One of them will be kept to host the broken champagne glasses from the wedding

Orchid Treasure Box – Painting and Decoupage (Cutie cu orhidee - decupaj)

As promised, I have come back to show you the matching treasure box for the invitations in the previous post. It was a quick one because quick was all the time I had :)
Still I really love the result. Especially the two-color blending which is something that I tried for the first time. The heart shaped window is going to have a picture underneath. I would have put something different instead, but I was pretty sure they wanted a picture and I was right. The orchid image comes from a printed handmade paper I had bought for this project. I used decoupage glue to adhere it to the box.
I’ll have a similar project to share next week, but it will be green with tulips.
Thanks for looking.
