The Christmas Bouquet (Buchetul de Craciun)

This bouquet is entirely made of ribbon scraps that I collected while making green wedding invitations. I keep a box where I collect all ribbon ends and wait for when I have time and inspiration to use them in some project.

Last year I made a blue bouquet for my friend's wedding. This year I chose emerals green, the Pantone color for 2013 to make another winter bouquet.
I picture it being part of a winter or early spring wedding with lots of green, woodsy, Scandinavian, just a little rustic, more like nature-inspired.

My wedding took place almost 10 years ago and I am not sure I am going to celebrate the anniversary in any way although my colors were green and white and I can imagine  a beautiful nature-glamour table for it. So the bouquet is currently for sale and you can find it in my Etsy Boutique here.

Me and the bouquet. I truly love it! It is much more beautiful in reality than my camera could capture in this gloomy December day. Holding it makes me feel like a Scandinavian princess... I guess in my heart I will never stop dreaming of tiaras, fancy dresses and beautiful castles. In my next post I will show you why my mother says I should act like a grown up with two kids.

Elena's Happy Spring Color Invitations (invitatiile Elenei in Culori Vesele de Primavara)

As I was saying in yesterday's post, Elena didn't stop at Tim Burton, nor did she stop at my Dragonfly Collection. Yet she offered me the inspiration and motivation to work on the designs mentioned above and I am very proud of the accomplishment.

In exchange she chose my most famous design (I still wonder why so many brides go for it). Of course she didn't go for the ordinary one color. Instead, I made 4 color combinations.

In sfarsit invitatiile Elenei, care nu au fost nici cele in stil Tim Burton, nici cele cu libelule pe care vi le prezentam ieri. M-am bucurat insa pentru oportunitatea si motivatia de a lucra la aceste colectii.

In schimb, Elena a ales modelul cel mai cerut din tot ceea ce am facut vreodata, fara sa mearga totusi pe clasicul o singura culoare. Am facut pentru ea invitatii in 4 combinatii e culori.

Off white card with warm yellow card.

Card galben stralucitor, funda crem.

Kelly Green card with creams a tin bow.

And, obviously, the bright green invitations with emerald green bows.

Dragonfly Wedding Invitations (Invitatii de nunta cu libelule)

With winter just knocking at the door, our studio is already buzzing with dragonflies, butterflies, ladybugs bright colors and spring weddings.

I remember like it was yesterday a time just like this, 2 years ago designing Elena's wedding invitations.

She starded with a dark Tim Burton theme, but for some reason she decided to turn 180 degrees and pick a sunny color palette, sunflowers maybe even animated with dragonflies and ladybugs,

First attempt (after the sunflowers and ladybugs have been discarded as well. I love the simplicity and purity of this DL card in a white envelope. Maybe add extra matching cards for the reception information, map, RSVP.

Iata primele modele de invitatii, dupa ce am renuntat la floarea soarelui si la mamarute. Imi place simplitatea si puritatea acestui model format standard (DL) intr-un plic alb. Se pot adauga la nevoie carduri de receptie, harti, carduri de raspuns in acelasi ton.

Add a box for a more sophisticated look or keep the simplicity of the envelope but mix your card colors.

Pentru nunti mai sofisticate invitatiile se pot pune si in cutii...

Sau pentru un aspect mai vesel putem face cardurile de mai multe culori.

Another favorite of mine. Yellow card with a yellow bow that somehow reminds me of the dragonfly's shape.

O preferata de-a mea: galben pe galben, iar funda aminteste de forma libelulei.

Or maybe you prefer more contrast.

In the end Elena preferred the large bows from my original round gatefold designs:

In cele din urma Elena a preferat fundele mari, renuntand complet la conceptul libelulei, dandu-mi ocazia sa-mi intregesc colectia cu aceste minunate combinatii de culori calde.

So here it is: "The Yellow Dragonfly Collection".
I still have to show you Elena's finished invitations, but that has to be left for another post as this one is already too long.

Acesta a fost colectia "Galben si Libelule". Mai trebuie sa va arat invitatiile Elenei finalizate, insa voi lasa asta pe data viitoare ca deja m-am lungit prea mult.

Fresh Greens, Soft and Delicate Cream Invitations for Spring Weddings

If the past 2 years were filled with rich tones and strong colors, I feel this spring the brides are going for softer combinations of creams, off whites, fresh greens and soft pinks.

This is an invitation I made in 2010, but I feel it perfectly describes the trend for this spring. I am not saying it is a general trend. It is only my feeling based on the projects I am working at.

Vintage Garden Party Invitation

Ana has chosen her vintage garden tea party invitations so I am continuing to show you the designs she didn't choose.
For this one I replaced the wax seal with a large paper bloom made by my friend Laura. I am loving the large blooms although they can only be hand delivered.

Along with the distressed flowers the linen finish envelopes and paper play a big part in the vintage feel of these invitations, yet they also feel fresh like early spring air and moss odor.

I know you can't smell an image but I am sure that one day when we meet in glory and our senses will be perfect we will be able to do that. How about touching sounds or tasting food with our eyes?

GARDEN TEA PARTY COLLECTION

They are inspired by more serene times, when people had time for an afternoon visit and tea. They are inspired by my dreams of lords and countesses, by all the romantic novels that make my fantasy world a better place than reality.

I have been having a lot of requests for Jane Austen inspired invitations, vintage floral, vintage tea parties, so that is  what I am working on now. I have a few more designs on the same theme, so I will put numbers for easy identification.
