Lil' Fall Sketchbook (Mini carnetel de toamna)

Seems like I am in bookbinding mode, right?

Here is another fall sketch book I made for a very good friend. It is quite small (7x7cm or 2 1/4") and uses the same materials as on this one (Core'dinations cardstock and Canson sketch paper). Cuttlebug folder: *Celtic Knot*, Scor-it board.

For a how to on the leaves check this post.

Cuttlebug folder: *Celtic Knot*

Thanks Giving Journal (Jurnal de Multumire)

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (King James Version)

"Mulţumiţi lui Dumnezeu pentru toate lucrurile; căci aceasta este voia lui Dumnezeu, în Hristos Isus, cu privire la voi."

1 Tesaloniceni 5:18 (Versiunea Dumitru Cornilescu)

This is my Thanks Giving project for Cuttlebug Be Inspired #56.

It's a handbound journal, great for counting your blessings every day. I made the cover using a kit from Teresa Collins our sponsor for Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge this week.

Friday is Art School (Vineri e scoala de arte plastice)

For me October means back to school. Art school that is. I had great fun today trying oil paints for the first time, but while that is drying back at the studio let me share last week's pastel painting (Canson paper, 50x70 cm).

"Rusty Autumn"

and here are some close-ups
(cateva detalii)

I had to paint the leaves from imagination because I finished the painting at home. I only had them sketched along with the image from my memory. They were maple leaves but they were so dry you could barely distinguish their shape.

However, it's the beautiful contrasts that I love about this still life.

Totusi mi-a placut foarte mult contrastul din acesta natura statica.

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #55: Live in the Sunshine (Traieste in razele soarelui)

Hi everyone. Time for Cuttlebug Be Inspired #55.

Salut, e timpul pentru Cuttlebug Be Inspired #55.

This week we are having a new sponsor: My Favorite Things. So your challenge is to make a card/project featuring YOUR favorite things. Check the Cuttlebug Challege Blog for details.

One of my favorite things is the sun. I can get really sad when the sun is not out there.

This card is a representation of the way the autumn sun plays in the colourful leaves and makes them shine.

I'm pretty sure you know how to make this card so I will just share a few things.

The craft paper is actually recicled from some old files that my husband wanted to throw away and I kept them for "you never know when I need them".

The leaves are stamped on vellum, some are embossed with gold embossing powder and then colored with acrylic paint in a mix of autumn colors. Use water resistant inks or emboss. You could also hand draw or print your leaves.

The stamping. I made a mask and masked the lower part of the stamp so it seems the lady is walking in the park. I drew the hat freehand. Tip: if you are not secure on your drawing, stamp your image on scrap paper several times and draw hats on them. Cut out the image you are happy with and use it as template to draw the hat when you make the actual card.

Products used: Paper: Core'dinations Black Magic, recicled cardstock file; Ink: Black Staz-on, Black pigment from StudioG; Tools: Score'it, Cuttlebug with *Harlequin* folder; Stamp: MFT
