Clearely Creative - Cuttlebug Be Inspired #96

This week's challenge over the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog is to use clear sheets and your cuttlebug to make cards and other projects.

This is the first card I have made in a long time. I used sime recycled packaging to make the clear flap. Recycling always makes me happy.

The green swirl is hand cut from a piece of paper embossed with the Birds and Swirls folder.

Cuttlebug and Stitching: Masculine Butterfly Card

Quick post and simple card today for Cuttlebug Be Inspired #71.
The challenge is to use stitching on your cards and layouts but I just faked it by using a gel pen.

Last Minute Wedding Cards for Caardvarks (Felicitari de nunta de ultim moment pentru Caardvarks)

The current challenge over the Caarvarks Blog is "Wedding Cards".

Unfortunately I only managed to do some last minute cards, that are still useful, but not my best.

wedding card with fleur de lis texture, red flower and pearl
Card 1.
Featuring one of my favorite cuttlebug folders (fleur de lis) and a royal red flower with pearl center. Such a personal combination!

Felictarea 1.

wedding card with salmon roses and purple bow
Card 2.
Trying my hand at making paper roses. I love this combination of soft salmon with purple. The texture is made using a brass stencil. Do you ever use those anymore?

Felicitarea 2.

wedding card with lace, fleur de lis texture and ecru flower
Card 3.
Fleur de lis, lace and ecru flower with a tiny purple rhinestone in the center. Need I say more?
I am starting to grow on yellow this year. I love my relationship with colors and how it changes from season to season!

Felicitarea 3.

Black Butterfly and Poppies (Felicitare cu fluture negru si maci)

Third post today!
Sorry guys, but I have soooo many things I haven't showed you yet.
I just finished this card for 2S4Y and I also made it match my butterfly box I posted earlier.

 black butterfly and poppies

Of course I HAD to use a black butterfly!
And did you see these black poppies I cut with my cuttlebug die? I have had it for ages and this is the first time I managed to use these poppies on a project. I wonder why. It's an image I really like.

Both the butterfly and flower are spritzed with wine color glimmer mist. Since the cardstock is black you can only see the shimmer which is exactly the look I went for. Starting to like my glimmer mist more.

More Valentines (Alte felicitari de Valentines Day)

I have left the best to the last. This is my favorite one:

 green and soft yellow valentine

green rose on yellow valentine
And the first time in my life I used fuchsia on a card. I like it, but will never be among my favorites. I don't like bright bolds.

Si iata prima felicitare din viata mea in care am folosit culoarea fucshia. Imi place, dar nu va ajunge niciodata in topul preferatelor mele. Nu prea imi plac culorile tipatoare.

Masculine Valentines (Felicitari de Sf. Valentin pentru barbati)

I've always had trouble creating masculine cards. Not this time.
Intotdeauna am avut dificultati in a crea felicitari pentru barbati. Nu si de data asta.

[Cuttlebug folder *floral fantasy*, vintage button from my grandma's sewing drawer ;) heart and medieval circle from my scrap stash, core' dinations paper, scor-it board, circle nestabilities.]

I also entered this for the no pink or red valentine challenge on cards blog this week but it didn't get picked. However you should check the other cards. They are fantastic and lots of inspiration for masculine valentines if you need some. I still like my card a lot:)

I really love this one!
The background paper is one I stained with glimmer mist while I was working on my Be Inspired #69 project. The little patterned strip is from a Teresa Collins kit (too precious to waist the tiniest scrap). The little heart is also cut out from my favorite valentine embossing folder from cuttlebug (floral fantasy).

Imi place felicitarea aceasta.

More Vintage Valentines (Inca niste felicitari de Sf. Valentin)

Last week after I made my first vintage valentine for the Cuttlebug Challenge I just couldn't stop so I made some more. Here they are:

 blue vintage valentine

blue vintage valentine 2

I used scraps from my stash and my favorite valentine folder from cuttlebug: *floral fantasy*

Who can guess what project does the black leaf come from?

Glimmer Mist Valentine - Be Inspired #69

I am one day late with my Cuttlebug Be inspired #69 design.
One day late and for a good reason: I got captured by my card making and managed to make about 5 other cards which for me is a record. Then I was too tired to post this last night.

We were challenged to use a masking technique and glimmer mist. For more details about that and how you can win your own glimmer mist, please check the challenge on the cuttlebug blog.
Sorry the picture doesn't show the subtle glimmer on the heart and these pictures were taken last night by artificial lighting.

The swirl is made with the cuttlebug *floral fantasy* folder which is great for valentines cards, then cut out.

The butterfly.... I couldn't live without butterfly cards :P
Fluturasul.... cum as putea trai eu fara felicitari cu fluturasi ? :P

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #66 and the New Romance Folders

Welcome to a new Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge!
Bun venit la un nou Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge!

This week we continue featuring the Asian Folders and the challenge is to create POCKET cards using RED.

Ok, my red is mixed with a little blue, but the design team has created some amazing cards using this Asian color.

Asian Pocket Card

This pocked card is inspired by one I got a year ago from my Texas friend Bev.
Since I don't like red, for me Asian means butterflies and cherry blossoms (the pattern paper I used for the butterfly).

This type of card is great for short messages like save the dates, thank you's. I am going to send mine to my SIL to say congratulations for her new baby Emilia. Her newborn announcements are ready and I hope to find some time to share some images tomorrow.

**************

And now I want to share a new surprise from Provo Craft, the creator of Cuttlebug.

It's the new Romance folders, perfect for your love and Valentine projects. The chandelier is my favorite I think. I can't wait to get my hands on them. The folders are on sale here.
Valentin. Cred ca preferatul meu e candelabrul si abia astept sa pun mana pe ele. Se gasesc la reducere aici.

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #55: Live in the Sunshine (Traieste in razele soarelui)

Hi everyone. Time for Cuttlebug Be Inspired #55.

Salut, e timpul pentru Cuttlebug Be Inspired #55.

This week we are having a new sponsor: My Favorite Things. So your challenge is to make a card/project featuring YOUR favorite things. Check the Cuttlebug Challege Blog for details.

One of my favorite things is the sun. I can get really sad when the sun is not out there.

This card is a representation of the way the autumn sun plays in the colourful leaves and makes them shine.

I'm pretty sure you know how to make this card so I will just share a few things.

The craft paper is actually recicled from some old files that my husband wanted to throw away and I kept them for "you never know when I need them".

The leaves are stamped on vellum, some are embossed with gold embossing powder and then colored with acrylic paint in a mix of autumn colors. Use water resistant inks or emboss. You could also hand draw or print your leaves.

The stamping. I made a mask and masked the lower part of the stamp so it seems the lady is walking in the park. I drew the hat freehand. Tip: if you are not secure on your drawing, stamp your image on scrap paper several times and draw hats on them. Cut out the image you are happy with and use it as template to draw the hat when you make the actual card.

Products used: Paper: Core'dinations Black Magic, recicled cardstock file; Ink: Black Staz-on, Black pigment from StudioG; Tools: Score'it, Cuttlebug with *Harlequin* folder; Stamp: MFT

Royal Thank you Notes (Felicitare de multumire regala)

This is the last Cuttlebug Birthday Palooza challenge: make THANK YOU NOTES to match your birthday theme.
Azi va prezint ultimul concurs Cuttlebug Birthday Palooza challenge. Tema este FELICITARI DE MULTUMIRE.

Here is mine, using just the Black Magic scraps left from previous projects, and 3 cuttlebug folders: Harlequin, Fleur de Lis, Victoria, and, of course, my trusty Scor-it. Yes, you guessed it right: I HATE THROWING MY SCRAPS AWAY so when I have to make a card, i try to use as much stuff from my scrap box as possible.

The stamp is from Stampin'UP! and I have only inked the words "Thank You".
Pentru a imprima cuvintele "Thank You" am folosit o stampila marca Stampin'UP! si cerneala aurie.

This card ends the Princess Emily 21st Birthday theme I have been working on all month long.
If you want to see the other items from the set, click on these links:

Be Inspired #44 - A Mushroom Scene (Scena cu ciuperca)

Hi everyone and welcome to Cuttlebug Be Inspired #44.
This week's challenge is to make a scene card and the sponsor we are introducing is Sakura of America.

So hurry up, take out your cuttlebug and make a scene card, then ener the challenge at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog for your chance to win a pack of Sakura products.

Mushroom Scene, by Ileana Feher

This is my sample for the challenge. Well..... MY is improperly said as I only had the initial idea but the card was actually made by my aunt who came over to visit for a couple of days.

Yes, that is right, this is a card made by a person who has seen the cuttlebug for the first time in her life. Who can name all the embossing folders and dies that she used? I think it came out better than many of my own cards, so hats of to my dear aunt for the first card she ever made and please leave her some praise 'cause she'll be reading this post :)

Card Recipe:
Paper:
Core'dinatios "White Wash" and "Shamrock Greens", card base and patterned paper from stash;
Cuttlebug folders and dies:
I want to see who can name them all;
Image
from Digital Delights by Louby Loo
Tools: Scor-it, decorative scissors, cuttlebug machine
Accessories: double sided foam, Uhu twist and glue, double sided tape, rhinestone from stash

SheetLoad and Cuttlebug Intersite Challenge -Be Inspired #25

This is my card for Be Inspired #25 over the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog.

Our sponsor this week is Sheetload.. They gave each of the design team a pack of frosty and clear acetate cards to work with. I chose the frosty one.

This is something new we are doing an intersite challenge.. Meaning both sites have come together to bring you an excellent challenge.. please take a moment to visit them by clicking on the image below. Sheetload is owned by Alicia the creator of Shortcuts. If you have not seen sheetload I suggest you run there and download your free copy.

Sorry for the ugly photo. I have waited for the sun in vain.

I saw a stamp like this somewhere, but I don't have it so I took my pen and watercolors and tried to draw it. I'm quite happy with it.

Edited: Leslie Miller has just told me it was an image by Stamp Oasis and the samp can be bought at Rubbernecker Stamp Co.   Thank you Leslie.

This is the sketch we had to use. I had to simplify as usually, I did not want to cover the frosty acetate. I kind of like the contrast: FROST - FLOWERS.

Cuttlebug Meets Cupkcake - Be inspired #24 (Cuttlebug si prajiturelele)

Welcome to Be Inspired Wednesday at Cuttlebug Challenge Blog with a big thank you to Regina at The Cutting Cafe for these super cupcakes digital stamps she gave the design team.

If you had asked me a week before today I would have told you I didn't like digital stamps. But these cupcakes were so fun to use that ideas just kept coming. So I made another simple card from the cardstock that was left from the first one.

I am also happy that I used the Spots and Dots cuttlebug folder instead of my favorite which is Textile. My personal challenge is to use all the cuttlebug products I have, not just my faves.

Ma bucur ca am reusit sa folosesc matrita Spots and Dots in loc sa tot apelez la preferata mea, Textile.

Thank you all for stoping by. I hope you will play along this challenge and make some cupcake cards. Submit them on the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog.

This is my card, using oval punches. I wonder what you will come up with? Go visit the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog for some inspiration and then make your own punch cards. All the readers submissions will be featured on the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog next Thursday.

Cute Shiny Tail mouse- Cuttlebug Be Inspired #22 (Soricel dragut cu coada stralucitoare)

I made this card for this week's Cuttlebug Be Inspired #22 over at the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog.

We had to choose from a set of digital images and add some glitter too.
Double challenge for me as I don't use glitter and I don't color stamped images to make cards.

I am quite happy with how it came out. The mouse is cute and I had fun adding glitter to it's tail.

Felicitare realizata pentru Cuttlebug Challenge #22.

Kissing Under the Cherry Thee - Watercolor Card (Sarut sub cires - felicitare in acuarela)

This is my card for Cuttlebug Be Inspired 21: Watercolor.
Aceasta este felicitarea mea pentru Cuttlebug Be Inspired 21: Watercolor.

Please check the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog to see all the design team cards and to submit your own card to the challenge.

As I was finishing this little tree painting I suddenly got sentimental and thought I needed 2 shilouettes under the blooming tree. I will keep this card to remind me of how happy I am in the arms of my husband.

In timp ce terminam acesta mica pictura in acuarela am devenit brusc sentimentala si am simtit nevoia sa schitez doua siluete sub pomul inflorit.

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #20 - Valerie Salmon Sketch

Hello everyone and thank you for all your good wishes.

Today's challenge over the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog is to make a card using Valerie Salmon's sketch.

The sketch is wonderful, but somehow I can't seem to be able to make cards from sketches, especially the complex ones. I was ready to give up making this card when I told to myself: "make it your own way!" So I changed it quite a bit, but in the end it came out ok. Still not very satisfied with it though.

I made this flower for the Emboss Acetate challenge at Cuttlebug Challenge Blog but the I got ill and never made a card with it. I used the Cuttlebug Floral Fantasy embossing folder to emboss the acetate cut out the circle, paint with acrylic.

Tree Shape Card (Felicitare in forma de copac)

This is my sample for Cuttlebug Be Inspired #18: SHAPE CARDS

I had so many card ideas! I think we should really do this again sometime.

The rest of the DT have some great samples too, so please visit Cuttlebug Challenge Blog to see them all.

How to make this card:

1) Draw a tree.

2) Use trace paper to copy it on the cardstock that will be the base of your card. Make sure not to cut out all the upper part so your card can open and close.

3) Trace the tree trunk on brown paper and the leaves on green paper and cut out. Repeat this step, only turn your paper if not double sided so you have the mirrored images.

4) Use a swirls embossing folder to make the leaves. I used the Fiskars Filigree texture plate.

5) Glue the colored paper to the front and back of the card.
6) Stamp some birds, color, cut out, punch a small heart and mount them with pop dots on your card front.

Voila!

This is how the open card looks. I initially intended to add more embellishments to it but then I decided to keep it simple this time.
