Orchid Treasure Box – Painting and Decoupage (Cutie cu orhidee - decupaj)

As promised, I have come back to show you the matching treasure box for the invitations in the previous post. It was a quick one because quick was all the time I had :)
Still I really love the result. Especially the two-color blending which is something that I tried for the first time. The heart shaped window is going to have a picture underneath. I would have put something different instead, but I was pretty sure they wanted a picture and I was right. The orchid image comes from a printed handmade paper I had bought for this project. I used decoupage glue to adhere it to the box.
I’ll have a similar project to share next week, but it will be green with tulips.
Thanks for looking.

This is BEAUTIFUL! The colours are very pretty. Love how you leave parts of the orchids hanging out into the heart. Amazing!

Meda .. the orchid is splendid! How intuitive of you to sense that they would prefer a picture in the open heart space! No wonder your business continues to blossom! I'm tickled for you!

Gorgeous! Your paint mixing is perfect! I know how hard it is to do without everything getting muddy. The decoupage work is beautifully done. Thanks for your kind comment on my blog, I'm glad I stopped by yours, you do great work! I'll be back!
