It's so exciting to see my brides come back for invitations with other important events in  their lives.

Sunt asa de incantata cand foste mirese revin sa le fac invitatii pentru alte evenimente importante din vietile lor.

I designed these invitations for Irina who's 30th birthday is this December.  She wanted something retro with black white and some red.  She also sent me a song by Zaz as inspiration. All in all, designing these invitations was like a breath of fresh air.

It was a pleasure playing with the chevron pattern which is so hot in design trends right now. Also, I loved finding a way to incorporate the Eiffel Tower to represent Irina's love for travelling.

Just for fun, here are the wedding invitations I made for Irina and Rhys  4 years ago.

E si cazul Irinei care luna acesta impineste 30 de ani. Pentru aceste invitatii ea a dorit un aspect retro si mi-a trimis ca inspiratie o melodie de  Zaz. In plus, turnul Eiffel de pe imitatia de timbru vrea sa aminteasca dragostea ei pentru calatorii.

Si ca un element surpriza, iata invitatiile de nunta ale Irinei si Rhys pe care le-am facut in urma cu 4 ani.

 I remember adding hand painted strokes to each of the roses for extra dimension.

Imi amintesc cu drag umbrele pictate manual pe fiecare tandafir pentru a adauga dimensiune in plus imaginii tiparite.

Black and White Invitations Continued

Is black and white going to be a season's favorite?
I don't know about that, but these days I seem to be working on a few black and white invitation orders.

After yesterday's cameo invitation, here is another idea that was inspired by a wedding taking place at Monaci Castle, Italy.

I love the simplicity of these colors combined with the elegance of the embossed pattern and the little rhinestone on the reception card.






I should probably mentioned that I am not actually making these invitations. This is a design I made just because. The real invitations for this wedding are white with a black ribbon but I always like to fiddle with the design a little bit and come up with my own version.

Black and White Invitations

I find it so intriguing that according to Google Analytics my most viewed page is the one featuring Black and white invitations.

While in other countries these colors are classic, they are certainly considered extravagant in Romania and most of our grandmothers would not be very happy to receive one, as black is associated with death and thought not to have anything to do with weddings.

Still, the trends are slowly pushing back tradition and here they are, my first black and white invitations for a Romanian wedding:














Sorry for the abundance of pictures. I just couldn't decide which ones to publish. They are taken in a hurry with my old point and shoot camera and none really shows the nice texture of the paper and envelopes.

You can still see that the layers are 3D mounted which brings a little extra attention to the whole design. And I have to brag about my dear brother having cut out all the frames (by hand, of course). Look here if you want to see what other talents my brother has.

White Invitations With Just a Hint of Pink (Invitatii albe cu doar o idee de roz)

I designed these invitations in December for a spring wedding. If I got married again, I would chose these invitations, a lacy dress, soft pink ranunculus and peonies bouquet, lots of lace and vintage items, lots of white, ivory and just hints of soft pink. And let's not forget the pearls.

Am creat aceste invitatii in Decembrie pentru o nunta de primavara. Daca ar fi sa ma casatoresc din nou, as alege aceste invitatii impreuna cu o rochie din dantela, buchet din ranunculus si bujori roz-pal, multa dantela, lucruri vintage, mult alb, nunate de crem-fildes si ici-colo roz pal. Sa nu uiam perlele.

I came in just quickly to upload today's Be Inspired cards and tell you who won the the goodies from the previous post.

I am late with this post because... I have a very good reason... :P
I was bewitched by Harry Potter. hehe... Actually, after seeing the last Harry Potter movie on Sunday I had to find out how the story ends so hubby brought me the last book on Monday. What happen was 48 hours in which I only slept and ate enough to survive. Boy, I am glad I finished that book! Wedding Card (Felicitare pentru nunta)

When I first saw this frame image in the set Maggie gave the team to work with, I knew it was my favorite and ideas started to pop out. Well, of course I had to make an elegant wedding card! Those will always be my favorite.

Cand am primit imagine aceasta de la Maggie, ideile au inceput sa apara una dupa cealalta. Am ales insa sa prezint doar 2 astazi.

Wedding Invitation (Invitatie pentru nunta)

This is the first invitation design that I did just for the pleasure of designing this summer. Yes, it was a hot summer with lots of custom work so I didn't have time to create just because.

Acesta este primul design pe care l-am facut in vara aceasta doar de dargul de a crea. A fost o vara fierbinte cu foarte multe comenzi care nu prea mi-au lasat timp sa fac ceva doar asa, de capul meu.

I had a lot of request of black/white wedding invitations this year. While black and white is not a color theme many Romanian brides would choose, it happens to be one of my favorite combo when it comes to stationary.

Stiu ca alb si negru nu este paleta preferata a mireselor din Romania, dar am avut destul de multe cereri din alte tari, asa ca am hotarat sa creez mai mult cu aceste culori, care sunt si printe preferatele mele.

This invitation also features one of the papers I fell in love with lately: Fabriano Tela which has a linen texture that gives an extra touch of elegance when printed on.

Un ultim lucru de obsevat la acesta invitatie este textura de panza a hartiei care da o nota de eleganta in plus cand se tipareste pe ea.

Simple Black and White Wedding Invitations (Invitatii de nunta simple cu alb si negru)

It is time for Cuttlebug Challenge #13. We were supposed to make a simple white card. Well, for those who know me it's a known fact that I like contrasts so I just had to sneak in a little bit of black.

E timpul pentru Cuttlebug Challenge #13. Tema e: simplu si alb, dar cine ma cunoaste stie ca prefer contrastul, deci a trebuit sa folosesc macar putin negru.



I chose to do wedding invitations. I Started with e one above, trying to keep it as white as possible. The label is a vector graphic I quickly did with my software's pen tool than printed out. For the background I used Provo Craft's Textile embossing folder. The actual invite will be printed on velum which is held together by the sheer organza ribbon.

Am hotarat sa fac niste modele de invitatii de nunta. Am inceput cu cea de mai sus incercand sa folosesc alb intr-o proportie cat mai mare. Eticheta e desenata intrun program de grafica vectoriala si apoi tiparita, iar textura eleganta a hartiei e obtinuta prin stantare. Textul va fi tiparit pe hartie transparenta care se prinde de invitatie cu panglica de organza.

The next 2 samples are done using the same technique with 2 of my favorite ribbons. The text can be printed on vellum or directly on the card to stay low with the price.

Urmatoarele 2 modele sunt realizate cu ajutorul aceleiasi tehnici, dar sunt decorate cu 2 dintre panglicile mele preferate din ultima perioada. Textul poate fi tiparit fie pe hartie transparenta, fie direct pe invitatie pentru a pastra pretul cat mai scazut posibil.





I would call these fit for a year of economical crisis: simple, yet very elegant.

As spune ca aceste invitatii simple si elegante sunt foarte potrivite pentru perioada de criza economica pe care o traversam.
