Sunflower Rustic Album

Hello everyone. That is if anyone is still there. Life has changed a lot here since Eduard was born and blogging time has been cut to zero although I am trying to get back to it and keep in touch with all of you.

You can follow me on my Instagram though. It's easier to upload from my phone and I post almost daily.

On to today's post. I have been receiving lots of orders for guest books and albums lately.

This one is a sunflower wedding album, 25x30cm.

The greatest challenge was to make it "rustic" as my client requested since I am inclined to make everything on the elegant side. The burlap ribbon helped achieve this look as well as the craft paper pages.

The cover was hand painted with acrylic paint. Luckily Iona, my 4-year-old has a set as my black color had caught mold.

I was told the bride to be and everyone present at the bridal shower loved it, so I guess my 3 days of work were worth it.

You can find more work-in progres pictures on my Instagram Account: INVITATIICOUTURE.

Off to play memo with Iona now. See you next time, hopefully sooner than later.

Astazi scriu in limba romana. Nu stiu daca voi avea rabdarea sa scriu si cateva randuri in engleza.

Album foto damasc maro+fildes, 30x40cm, 30 pagini + 30 file separatoare.

A Mother's Journal (Jurnalul unei mamici)

Hello world. Sorry for not posting lately. I have been busy raising kids. Now that the cold weather keeps us inside more I am ready to show you some of the creative things I did this summer.

Salutare.

This is an album I made for Ramona and her new baby girl to record her experience as a mother. I also sent her a pack of embellishments to decorate it as she moves along.
My favorite part: the butterfly buttons from India added to the spine.

Partea mea preferata: nastureii in forma de fluturasi inclusi in cusatura.

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #54 - The Card Becomes Sketchbook (Felicitarea devine caiet de schite)

Hi everyone. I am glad I could keep my promise and show you my new sketchbook. I only went to bed after I finished it last night, but I needed good light to photograph it. Luckily the sun is back and I was home just in time to catch the last rays this afternoon.

Salut.

This is the cover. As you can see, I changed it a bit: added the word "don't" very small before haunt, accented the word "art" with my Sakura glaze pen, added that beautiful fleur de lis glimmer glass from Tattered Angels, sanded the cuttlebug embossed fleur de lis and added just a little bit of extra glimmer mist (Tattered Angels).

Coptic stich
for the spine. I really love this binding technique! It allows you to transform a book into a work of art. And to think it was invented 2n'd century AD...

Hand torn pages.
I asked my husband "Don't you find it weird that in a house with 2 paper trimmers someone would tear pages by hand?" Well, he was too busy taking apart a broken laptop to answer.

Inside pages
are excellent quality Canson sketch paper (90 g/sm).

Back cover.
I really love Tattered Angels craft paper packaging. Their designs are gorgeous so I hand cut this fleur de lis from the package and added it to my sketchbook. Click on the image to see larger. The wording really matches my book.

Copera spate.

Quick tip:

While making my sketchbook I had an idea: I have several cards that I received from friends. They all sit in a box and I look at them from time to time but not anymore because I am going to transform them into little books that I can use every day.

If you decide to use this tip please leave me a link so I can see what you have done.

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #54 - Sketch Book Cover (Coperta caiet de schite)

Welcome to Cuttlebug Be Inspired #54.
Bun venit la Cuttlebug Be Inspired #54.

This week the design team has a variety of fall/Halloween projects made with products from our sponsors (see list at the end of post).

I don't celebrate Halloween but I really loved the bingo boards designs from Tattered Angels so I started putting them together to see what comes up. What you can see in the picture is a card I managed to finish last night but since then I slept over it and came with the idea of making my own hand torn and hand bound sketch book. I hope I finish it tonight so be sure to check back tomorrow for the final result.

Sper sa-l termin in seara asta, asa ca ne vedem maine daca doriti sa vedeti rezultatul final :)

Calla Wedding Album and Butterflies (Album Nunta Cala si Fluturasi)

This wedding album is another project from my "100 butterfly" series.

The butterflies were put in the box with the album. They could be used to decorate the pages or just left there as a nice surprise for those who would open it. See this post for how they were made.

The cover (Coperta)

The cover is custom designed to match the calla lily theme of the wedding. I also added the couple's names and wedding date.
Am personalizat coperta cu tema nuntii, cala, cu numele mirilor si data nuntii.

I left the back cover plain, matching the front.

Both covers are custom size, made from a large sheet of bookboard and covered with printed designer paper.

The spine (Cotorul)

For the spine I used my favorite binding method: the Coptic Stitch. Then I decorated it with a sheer green ribbon to match the color theme.

The pages (Paginile)

The pages inside alternate striped vellum and matching printed pages for the photos. The first page has a different design and a printed quote.

R is for Ruben (R de la Ruben)

This is a coaster album I have made for a friend's baby pictures. Actually only the covers are coasterts and the rest is regular heavy cardstock. It's a great way to keep your most pretious pictures in your purse and have them on hand wherever you go. The ribbon keeps it tightly closed.
