Winter Wonderland Guest Books (Carti de oaspeti Regatul Inghetat)

Happy new year!

With the Disney "Frozen" movie being so en vogue right now, the winter season caught me making winter wonderland invitations and matching guestbooks which I really enjoyed. Although they were all going in different places and they were ordered about the same time, I couldn't make them identical and I still have a few ideas left.

This first guestbook was made for a wedding in Paris. My heart is with you Ailin, and with everyone in France living under terror after the recent attacks. May God protect you from any harm.

This one was made for a little boy's christening. You can also see the matching invitations and place card/money envelope.

Last but not least, Eva's christening guest book. God bless you little princess.

On a more personal note, the beginning of the year found me setting goals and making plans.
One of them regards this blog which has been much neglected from lack of time and will.
I was wondering, should I continue posting, is anyone still following? Anyway I am going to try and post at least 3 times per month if not for anything else, for practicing discipline.

What would you like to read about?

I can't do videos. I lack the technology and the will to learn how to do it.... for now.
I have also decided to step back on card making.
I still make wedding invitations, but that isn't coming easy in lack of a messy creative space. Renting a studio had become too expensive so I decided to work from home in order to give more time and attention to my family.

In exchange I have got back to fine art. Whether it's a large mixed media canvas or an online watercolor course, I find myself often with a brush and pain in my hands. My older son, Iona, seems to be following in my footsteps which makes my heart sing with joy.

Invitatii... Frozen, pictate manual (Frozen Invitations, Painted by Hand)

Pentru cei care nu stiu, in Brazilia e iarna. Am aflat si eu recent prin intermediul unei cliente care a cerut invitatii cu fulgi de nea pentru o petrecere care va avea loc in iunie.

Paleta de culori: alb, argintiu, albastru inghetat, verde marin.
Elementul inedit: fundalul a fost pictat manual cu acuarela, la fel si hartia din care au fost decupati fulgii, deci fiecare invitatie e unica.

Va las cu cateva poze facute rapid in timpul procesului de design si productie.

Aici testam dierite culori si hartii pentru fundal.

Modelul final. Acum la treaba!

Fulgi decupati din hartie pictata cu acuarela si unsi cu sclipici.

Fundaluri pictate si unse cu sclipici de noua mea colega, Mona. Poate intr-o zi va fac cunostinta, dar momentan timpul meu online e foarte limitat.

Tiparite si montate. Urmeaza elementele extra.

Noaptea cand dorm copiii se leaga fulgii.

Plicuri handmade cu textura fulgi de nea, sigiliu argintiu cu monograma, etichete personalizate cu numele invitatilor.

GATA! Sunt foarte mandra de aceste invitatii. Imi doresc si alte proiecte in care accentul sa cada pe pictura. Am deja cateva idei. Sa vedem cand voi gasi timpul si ocazia sa le pun in aplicare.

It's not spring yet, although yesterday I had my mind set on showing you our spring projects. We had huge snowflakes falling from the sky this morning. So I decided to post yet another winter wedding stationery idea.

Pe cand credeam ca vine primavara, azi dimineata au cazut din cer niste fulgi imensi. Asa ca am hotarat sa aman inca putin seria de postari privind proiectele de primavara si sa va mai prezint o idee potrivita pentru nunti de iarna.

Christmas Engagement Invitations (Invitatii de logodna la Craciun)

While getting engaged at Christmas is not something out of common I was very surprised when Georgiana asked me for engagement invitations in Christmas style and colors. So  went crazy with red green and cream, velvet ribbons, buttons, snowflakes and hearts until I came up with 3 designs that the future bride picked for her engagement party.

Iata invitatiile pentru logodna Georgianei. Cu toate ca e ceva comun sa se faca logdna de Craciun nu m-as fi asteptat ca cineva sa-mi ceara si invitatii in stilul felicitarilor de Craciun.

The invitation wording will be handwritten as is the handstamped background for the text and envelope lining.

Interiorul plicurilor si al invitatiilor sunt stampilate manual, mesajul urmand sa fie scris tot de mana.

How to Make a Beaded Frame for your Stationery (Cum sa faci o rama cu margele pentru invitatii sau felicitari)

This was not meant to be a tutorial, but mixing the beads for the frames was such a pleasant activity that I took some photos while doing it. I will explain the rest of the process in words.

Materials: cardstock frame, white PVA glue, beads in the colors of your choice.

My favorite part was choosing and mixing the beads.

Pentru a realiza aceste rame aveti nevoie de rame decupate din carton, aracet si margele in culorile preferate pe care urmeaza sa le amestecati. 

Then comes the unpleasant part. You have to cover your frame with a good amount of glue and pour the bead mix over it. Use a tooth pick to arrange the overlapping or stray beads, then let the frames dry over night.

Acoperiti ramele cu o cantitate generoasa de aracet si presarati margelele. Folositi scobitori pentru a le aranja pe cele ratacite sau suprapuse si lasati la uscat peste noapte.

Use these frames to make Christmas cards,wedding invitations or other stationery, gifts and decorations.
Don't worry if some of the beads fall off, there will be enough left to keep their beauty.
